Terms of service

Last updated: July 18, 2026

These terms cover your use of the Timelin macOS app and the timelin.app website (together, “Timelin”). Timelin is provided by Leonel Meque, an independent developer (“we”, “us”). By using Timelin, you agree to these terms.

Your license to use Timelin

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Timelin for your own planning and focus work, in line with these terms. You may not resell Timelin, or copy, reverse engineer, or redistribute it except as allowed by law.

Accounts and sign-in

You can use the desktop app locally without an account. Some features, such as cloud sync and Pro, require signing in.

Sign-in is passwordless. You receive a 6-digit code by email, or sign in with Apple or Google where available. We do not store passwords. You are responsible for keeping access to your email and sign-in methods secure, and for activity under your account. Let us know at hello [at] timelin.app if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

Free tier and Pro

Timelin offers a free tier and a paid Pro plan. Pro is available on monthly and yearly plans, and unlocks cloud sync and additional features. The specific features included in each tier may change as the product develops.

Billing

Pro subscriptions are sold and processed through Paddle, which acts as the Merchant of Record and is the seller of record for your purchase. Paddle handles payment, billing, tax, and invoices.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) until cancelled.
  • You can cancel at any time. When you cancel, your plan does not renew, and your Pro access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.
  • Prices may change. If a price changes, it applies to future billing periods, and we will give you reasonable notice.
  • Refunds and payment disputes are handled in line with Paddle’s terms as Merchant of Record. If you have a billing question, contact us at hello [at] timelin.app and we will help.

Acceptable use

Please use Timelin lawfully and reasonably. Do not use it to break the law, infringe others’ rights, interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure, attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems or other users’ data, or misuse the service in ways that harm Timelin or other people.

Your content

Your planning data is yours. Using Timelin does not give us ownership of it. When cloud sync is on, you grant us the limited permission needed to store and sync your data so the feature can work. You are responsible for the content you create in Timelin.

Service availability and changes

Timelin is an actively developed product from a small independent developer. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may occasionally have downtime or maintenance. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

Disclaimer of warranties

Timelin is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that Timelin will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your specific needs. You are responsible for keeping your own backups of important data.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use Timelin. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to Timelin is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim.

Termination

You can stop using Timelin at any time, and you can close your account as described in our privacy policy. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms or use Timelin in a way that could harm the service or others. If your account is closed, your Pro subscription is cancelled and your cloud data is deleted, while your local data stays on your device.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Timelin evolves. When we make meaningful changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Timelin after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
